Lima, September 19, 2018. At a gala ceremony to mark the occasion, the World Travel Awards 2018 recognized Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel as the Leading Luxury Boutique Hotel in Peru and South America.

During the event, held at the historic Palacio de Cristal in Guayaquil, Ecuador, Peru also came away a winner as “South America’s Leading Culinary Destination,” “South America’s Leading Cultural Destination,” and the home of “South America’s Leading Tourist Attraction: Machu Picchu.”

According to Pierre Berthier, General Manager of Aranwa Hotels, the chain’s Cusco location has forty-three luxurious rooms with an intelligent oxygen system, relaxing Scottish showers, and marble fixtures in the spa-inspired bathrooms, which feature radiant floor heating for a cozier atmosphere.

“As a hotel chain, we are extremely proud to receive this acknowledgment. It is flattering to be recognized for the hard work and top-notch service that we provide to each one of our guests, whether they come from Peru or abroad. We are also pleased that we could help make our country a reference point for international tourism. From the very start, Aranwa Hotels has focused on a combination of culture and wellbeing, offering the most authentic experience possible with first-rate spas, hospitality, and tourist services at each one of our five destinations: Cusco, Valle Sagrado, Colca, Paracas, and Vichayito,” said the general manager.

Berthier also provided some historical background about this blend of hotel and museum, which dates from the 16th Century, noting that it was rebuilt on the site of the residence of Cusco’s first archbishop, which was later the home of famed writer Clorinda Matto de Turner. For this reason, it has been named a historical monument by the city of Cusco. The hotel features artwork, paintings, sculptures, and carvings that provide guests with an opportunity to know and enrich themselves with part of the culture and the renowned Cusco School of painting.

In addition, Aranwa Cusco Boutique Hotel offers guests the chance to savor a wide array of flavors based on traditional Andean recipes that have been adapted to modern culinary techniques, as well as drinks accompanied by exquisite tapas.
